For physician assistants, business owners and retirees

Leave your first call knowing your next three moves.

I’m Alex Lawrence. On our first call, by phone or Zoom, we’ll look at where you are and name the three things worth doing first: one to protect, one to harness, one to deploy. They’re yours whether or not we work together.

Why Oakwater

Most advisors start with your investments. I start with your paycheck.

Insurance and investments matter, and I handle both. But how much you save is the biggest lever you control, and it’s the part most advisors skip. I coach cash flow, built around a Reservoir account that gives every dollar a job before it’s spent.

My promise: As a fiduciary, if you pay me to manage your money, I should keep earning it. I look for opportunities all year, not just at your annual review, and bring them to you first. When something falls outside my licenses, I’ll bring in the right CPA, attorney or specialist and work alongside them.

Harness · The Reservoir

Your raises go to savings, not to lifestyle creep.

Every paycheck lands in one place first, then flows out on a plan: fixed bills, lifestyle, one-time costs and savings. Your spending is set ahead of time, so when your pay goes up, the extra can stay in the Reservoir and flow to savings. Your savings rate can climb without you feeling it.

Hypothetical example: $100,000 household income, saving 10% today. Income grows 3.8% a year; spending grows 3.8% on the current path and 2.8% with a Reservoir. Not a guarantee. Actual results will vary.

One plan, not three salespeople

Cash flow, insurance and investments in one written plan, coordinated with your CPA, instead of advice in silos.

Coaching that keeps going

We set up the Reservoir together, automate the flows and revisit them when your pay, your job or your family changes.

Plain English, always

If I can’t explain a recommendation in a sentence, I won’t make it. Meetings start with your questions.

Your advisor

Hi, I’m Alex. Roots that hold. Money that moves.

I’m the advisor behind Oakwater Advisors. The two things I love most are the outdoors and financial planning, so I built something that represents both.

An oak grows slowly and is built for storms it hasn’t seen yet. Water does the opposite: it keeps moving and finds a way through. A good plan needs both: foundations that barely change, and money inside them that keeps working.

How it works

From a first call to a plan you’ll actually use.

  1. Intro call

A conversation about where you are and what’s on your mind. You’ll leave with your next three moves, and knowing whether we’re a good fit.

  2. Discovery

We gather the details: accounts, pay stubs, benefits, insurance and goals. Bring what you have and I’ll help sort the rest.

  3. Your plan

A written plan organized as Protect, Harness and Deploy, with your next moves ranked by how much they matter.

  4. Ongoing

We put the plan to work together and revisit it as life changes: a new job, a new baby, a new decade.
